The 2018 Winter Olympics is going to be hosted by South Korea who is suggesting that some of the games should be played in North Korea. South Korea's sports minister helping run the Olympics suggests North Korea's Masikryong, a ski resort with 70 miles of slopes could be used for some events.

North Korea has declined the offer saying that they wouldn't have enough time to prepare for the games. Despite the response from the North, South Korea says they're still open to the idea and will continue to pursue negotiations to make it happen.

The thought behind this is that it could help ease tensions with North Korea and possibly give the cut off nation a glimpse of the outside world. While no North Korean athletes have qualified for the games so far South Korea has said that they'd be willing to allow them passage through the DMZ to compete.
