Did you get coffee for free this weekend at Starbucks?

I saw a few posts on my Facebook page about this from friends. Apparently Starbucks' system shut down and they were handing out free coffee??

Turns out that was the case at some locations.

According to CBS Los Angeles, Starbucks suffered a nationwide computer glitch during its daily refresh that impacted stores in the U.S. and Canada. Many stores switched to a cash-only system, while others decided to close completely. Then there were some, who didn't pass math class, who decided "Let's give away free coffee!!"

Ok, maybe they do know how to do math, but decided this was a genius marketing technique to have people try and fall in love with their product.

The outage happened around 6 p.m. on Friday, but was resolved late that night. Stores reopened for normal business on Saturday.
