The Bossier Chamber of Commerce will host the 'State of the Schools' address later this month.

It begins at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, at the Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning, located at 1020 Innovation Drive -- off of Barksdale Boulevard in old downtown Bossier.

New Bossier Schools Superintendent Scott Smith will highlight the State of Education address. He'll be outlining his vision for the Bossier Parish School System in his first year as superintendent. He'll also speak about the successes and challenges for the district.

District 4 BESE member Tony Davis will also be part of the discussion. He'll be talking about the state education system, including the Every Student Succeeds Act and how it will affect the Louisiana education system.
