Fire in a storage tank and a field off of Highway 3 in Benton after an intense lightning storm Sunday evening.

Heavy smoke could be seen for miles as the Benton Fire Department rushed to extinguish the blaze. Fire Chief JT Wallace says at this time it is unclear if the fire was started by a direct lightening strike or static electricity. The blaze remains under investigation.

The Sunday storm knocked out power in several areas in the Arklatex. Right now, there are still nearly 3000 without power in Bossier Parish and about 300 in Desoto Parish.
