Every state has interesting town names, but Louisiana, full of heritage and culture, somehow takes the cake. Have you ever heard of some of these towns, much less know what they mean??

I'm a Louisiana girl through and through. Born and raised in Shreveport, I've learned Southern traditions along the way...not to mention having a Cajun French surname growing up that very few could actually pronounce. But after all of these years, there are still some towns in this fabulous state that I've never heard of...not to mention know what they mean.

For instance, have you ever heard of Jigger, Louisiana? I haven't. But if you have, did you know that this quaint little town was named after a man that used to dance the jig? Or how about Mowata, Louisiana? This tiny town was a stop for trains that would stop to top of the boilers and the engineers would scream, "More water" which soon became "Mo'water."

Well, thanks to our friends at Only In Your State, here's a list of other unique towns with even more unique names. Can you think of any other Louisiana towns with fascinating names? Let us know!
