The following post contains SPOILERS — both real and hilariously fake ones that got shared online even though they were not true — for Suicide Squad.

According to recent reports, there were a lot of changes to Suicide Squad’s script and structure along its bumpy road to theaters. So it’s possible a few of the rumors listed below were true at some point during the film’s development. Regardless, none of these concepts, characters, or plot points made it into the movie — for better or worse. Actually, a few of the ideas below are more interesting than the final movie we actually got.

There was a lot of speculation about Suicide Squad since the project was officially announced in the fall of 2014. Some of it turned out to be correct, like the inclusion of characters like Batman and the Joker (and the cast of Jared Leto in the role). But a lot of the rumors were wildly off base. (The Riddler? Really?) We have collected them all here. In the tradition of our lists of rumors for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Batman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeX-Men: Apocalypse, and Captain America: Civil War that turned out to be false, here’s our list for Suicide Squad. We’re kinda bummed #8 wasn’t true, to be honest.
