[UPDATE] Benton Elementary School Burglary Caught
[UPDATE] A teen seen on video breaking into Benton Elementary School last month is now behind bars.
Bossier sheriff's deputies say 18-year-old Juan Cruz Smith turned himself to detectives this morning. He's been booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility on a simple burglary charge.
[ORIGINAL STORY] The Bossier Sheriff's Office is looking for a young male caught on surveillance video burglarizing a Bossier Parish school.
Detectives say the guy broke into the Benton Elementary gym just after 8 p.m. on October 23. He went into the office and stole fundraising money the students collected by selling candy, as well as a tablet computer.
