The Northwest Louisiana chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation will once again be holding their 'Susan's Closet' formal wear sale event on Saturday, February 8th, at Shreveport's First Baptist Church.

From the Komen website:  'Susan's Closet was started by Brenda Norton with her sister Diann Mitchell. Brenda dreamed of giving every girl in the Ark-la-tex the opportunity to be beautiful on her special day.The event will be open to high school aged girls from 7am-10am and open to the public at 10am. We are excited to add formal shoes, jewelry, and handbags to this year's event to complete the perfect dress!'

Appearing with us on 96.5 KVKI this morning, Komen director Lindsay Dean added that they are also still looking for donations, including formal dresses (any length), shoes, purses and handbags. Again from the Komen site: 'You can drop them at any Porter's Cleaners location or at the Susan G. Komen office at 2015 Fairfield Avenue in Shreveport. Thank you again for your interest in our event and if you need anything at all please feel free to email our chairman Mrs. Stacy Smith at stacysmith1977@gmail.com'.
