A Shreveport man is now behind bars after an investigation into several vehicle burglaries across the city.

17-year-old Alexander Coleman was arrested at a residence in the 400 block of West 66th Street shortly after 9:00 a.m. on September 15, 2016. Coleman, who had an active warrant for his arrest on file, was being sought by authorities regarding his alleged involvement in numerous vehicle break-ins and motor vehicle thefts over the past couple of months.

A press release from Shreveport Police spokesman Cpl. Marcus Hines tells us how police were finally led to Coleman:

Information gathered during investigators tireless efforts, led them to the West 66th Street home Thursday morning, where Coleman was located and taken into custody without incident. Authorities have gathered information and evidence, linking Coleman to a group of suspects believed responsible for dozens of vehicle break-ins and thefts. Following Coleman's arrest, he was taken to Shreveport Police headquarters where he was interviewed by detectives. Following subsequent interviews, Coleman was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and charged with 12 counts of simple burglary and 3 counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

More charges are pending as the investigation continues.
