Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department are trying to identify a suspect who committed an armed robbery at a Family Dollar store in late December.

Back on December 20, 2016, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to an armed robbery at the Family Dollar store located in the 7700 block of Pines Road. When officers spoke to people on scene during the ordeal, they learned a man entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded the clerk hand over money.

The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

The suspect fled on foot, but not before he was caught on surveillance video. The man was described as a black male wearing a dark colored jacket with a hood he had pulled over his head, dark jeans, a tan colored scarf, and gloves.

Detectives are releasing images of the suspect in hopes someone will be able to recognize him.
