Sweden is taking gender quality to a whole new level. The notably gender equal country is pursuing gender neutral. They've even added a new pronoun to the Swedish dictionary "hen" instead of the traditional "han" for a boy and "hon" for a girl.   Slate reports that Sweden, who has the highest percentage of women working and 2/3 of all degrees are issued to women, is looking for society and government to end the lines between male and female. The new gender neutral pronoun is just the latest step in the progression towards gender neutrality.

Activists are seeking that there be more gender neutral names in the country other than the just 170 in place. The ideal goal is for it to be acceptable to name a boy Rebecca and a girl John.  I can't help but be reminded of the parents are staunchly against revealing their child's sex, even to the child's grand parents, until the child makes their own decision on what sex they want to be.

A Swedish Children's Clothing company has even gone so far as to take out the "boys" and "girls" section in their stores. And a Swedish toy catalog shows a Spiderman pushing a pink baby stroller and a little girl riding a three wheeler.

I can't get my head around this. I know we are all human, but we are either male or female. The two are inherently different. I am against begin treated differently because of gender, but I don't know that I am ready to abolish the differences all together.
