She’s got one hand in her pocket and another in Fremantle Media’s pocket, apparently. Alanis Morissette has announced that she may be in the running to be a new ‘American Idol‘ judge.
We still can’t get over the fact that the No. 1 diva herself Mariah Carey has agreed to be a judge on ‘American Idol.’ Of course, with a price tag of $18 million, we’re not terribly surprised, but we have a sneaking suspicion she agreed because she feels the need to compete with veteran competitors like ‘X Factor‘ judge Britney Spears and ‘The Voice‘ judge Christina Aguilera.
Mariah Carey has officially joined ‘American Idol‘ as a judge for Season 12, which kicks off in 2013. Congrats not only to Carey but to Fox on this major, major coup. While it seemed that producers had a challenge on their hands in trying to find a suitable A-list replacement for the departing Jennifer Lopez, they outdiva-ed the diva with this addition.
‘American Idol‘ sure is looking to fill the heels, er, judging spot, vacated by Jennifer Lopez, with someone bigger and better! The show is reportedly thisclose to replacing one diva with another in the form of Mariah Carey. O to the M to the F to the G. The five octave Carey as an ‘Idol’ judge? So much for those rumors that ‘Idol’ was planning to downsize for Season 12. Producers are shooting for the stratosphere if they close this deal.

Former ‘American Idol‘ winner, ‘Sparkle’ star, and Jason Derulo‘s lady love Jordin Sparks shows off her banging body in a royal purple bikini on the cover of Shape magazine.

Despite rumors and prior reports of former American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler quitting the show, they're actually saying they really didn't.
Tyler…out! (To borrow phrase from host Ryan Seacrest.)
After two seasons, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler has chosen to leave his role as a judge on ‘American Idol.’ Tyler made the announcement via press release, smack dab in the middle of speculation that Charlie Sheen is up for a slot on the panel and right after Jennifer Lopez, who joined the same season as Tyler, said that she thinks it’s time for her to go. Will Randy ‘Yo! Dawg!’ Jackson be the sole judge to remain?
Kelly Clarkson can cross another item off of her long list of accomplishments. Arguably the most famous ‘American Idol‘ alumna, Clarkson’s single ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)’ off her album ‘Stronger’ became the best-selling ‘Idol’ single of all time, even knocking fellow ‘Idol’ winner Carrie Underwood back to second place. Underwood held the title when her single ‘Before He Cheats’ was released.
This Saturday in Westlake, Louisiana, there will be a Homecoming Pep Rally for American Idol Top 3 contestant Joshua Ledet. Due to inclement weather there has been a time change for the festivities.
Oh boy. It looks like the Top 12 will get a lot smaller without votes from viewers. TMZ reports that ‘American Idol‘ will kick a contestant off this week for concealing his or her criminal record.
