The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana received a very generous donation from the Walmart Foundation to help feed over 65,000 people in Northwest Louisiana. A $90,000 refrigerated food truck was donated by the Walmart Foundation to help deliver fresh food from retailers to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.
The Food Bank is in need of volunteers to help sort items and prepare boxes for our Senior Program. Last year the Food Bank had over 800 volunteers that gave over 13,500 volunteer hours to help provide food to those in need.
With the economy staying stagnant, more and more families are having to ask for help making ends meet.
And groups are trying their best to help as much as possible. But sometimes the demands outpace the donations.
