My fabulous sisters from the Krewe of Akewa, based out of Minden, put on a gorgeous show complete with beautiful costuming, pageantry, jesters and fun backdrops Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bossier City.

It's going to be another fun filled week for Mardi Gras revelers in northwest Louisiana!

The Minden-based Krewe of Akewa revealed their royalty for the new Mardi Gras season over the weekend with a luau at Pine Hills Country Club.

This past Friday night, I was honored to be a part of the Krewe of Akewa's eleventh grand bal at the Knights of Columbus in Bossier City!

The historically women's Mardi Gras krewe from Minden, LA, the Krewe of Akewa, celebrate Mardi Gras from 'Around the World' this Friday, January 30th, 2015 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Hwy 80 in Bossier City.
