Paramount has been doing some release date reshuffling, and, oddly enough, they’ve moved another one of this year”s movies up a couple days. Now, Transformers: The Last Knight will open in theaters Wednesday, June 21, instead of that Friday, June 23. Interesting.

With Michael Bay hanging up his transforming robot spurs after this summer’s Transformers: The Last Knight, a lot seems to be hinging on the success of his final outing. Paramount already has plans to create a Transformers cinematic universe with a series of movies based on individual characters from the series; should Bay’s final film trip coming out of the gate, it could throw a wrench into a pretty expensive set of gears. And while no one would confuse me with the world’s biggest Transformers fan, the hint of time travel and goofy historical retconning at least makes this one seem kind of fun.

Word has gone around that The Last Knight will be the last Transformers movie for Michael Bay, and for a director this enamored with his franchise, it’s gotta be a little bittersweet. Today, Bay posted an open letter to his crew, his writers’ room, and his fans to say goodbye and to tell us all how much he loves this series and how much he hopes we do too.

The latest photo reveals a brand new, original Autobot created specifically for the upcoming sequel, and he’s got a pretty adorable name.

It looks like Bumblebee is getting a bit of a makeover for the new Transformers sequel — not that it’s the first time. The friendly Autobot capable of stealthily upgrading his wheels has traded in his 2014 Camaro for a newer model, though he’s still sporting his signature colors, of course. Michael Bay revealed Bumblebee’s new look over the weekend, and if you’re a fan of cars — or of Transformers — then you’ll probably want to take a look.

Transformers: The Last Knight recently (as in, like, two days ago) began filming in Cuba, with a small crew shooting a few scenes before principal production moves to Detroit on June 6. With that in mind, a new viral video for the fifth installment in the franchise is hinting at the arrival of something big on May 31 — which could very well be the first official teaser.

I like that this video explains who the Ninja Turtles are, for the benefit of those people who have been living in a cave (or maybe a sewer) since the late 1980s and have somehow avoided one of the six previous movies, five television shows, hundreds of toys, comics, and video games about these characters. “Oh Donatello is the purple one, ohhhhhh. For the last 30 years, I thought that was Raphael! My bad.”

Well, if nothing else, at least we now know Transformers 5 will look really, really good. John Wick cinematographer John Sela has been hired to shoot Michael Bay’s upcoming mega-robot blockbuster sequel — unfortunately for us (but fortunately for him), Keanu Reeves will not be making an appearance, but rest assured that he will be with Michael Bay in spirit, hopefully using his unique brand of zen to guide Bay through this difficult process

Rumors of 'Bad Boys 3' have swirled for years -- the last we heard, it was looking for a writer, though there was no word if stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, and director Michael Bay would come back for another outing -- but it finally looks like things might be moving in the right direction. At least, if you think that Lawrence returning for more action is the right direction. (Hint: it is).

You'll be hard-pressed to find many people who actually liked 'Transformers: Age of Extinction.' But unlike the previous three movies in this franchise, the box office actually reflected that. With the film currently struggling to hit $250 million at the domestic box office (despite doing great numbers overseas), it isn't that surprising that director Michael Bay is jumping ship on 'Transformers 5'.
