Heavy rains in and around the Ark-La-Tex have increased the potential for flooding in this already water logged area. On Monday morning, the Caddo Office Of Homeland Security along with other area leaders met with the National Weather Service to discuss the current and upcoming weather conditions.

The City of Shreveport is hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst, as local and state officials monitor the rising Red River.

Recent heavy rains have sparked flooding concerns from Shreveport to Alexandria along the Red River. These same rains have officials in Baton Rouge and New Orleans keeping a close eye on the Mississippi River as well.

The National Weather Service is expecting the Red River to rise to slightly above flood stage by this weekend.
