Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

October is breast cancer awareness month, and we are gearing up for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Shreveport Saturday, November 2. You can get ready for the big day by following these simple steps:

Grab your lawn chairs and prepare to head north, Shreveporters. The third annual Blanchard Music Festival is being held on Saturday, October 20. The festival raises money for a local charitable cause. This year, the money raised will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure -- specifically, a local Blanchard woman who is suffering from breast cancer.

We raced to cure breast cancer this weekend -- literally! The Susan G. Komen Foundation held its 18th annual Race for the Cure on September 15 at the CenturyLink Center and we were there bright and early. Robert J. Wright isn't exactly an athletic guy. He's way too cool for sweat. But that didn't stop him from agreeing to put on his rarely used exercise shorts and signing up with Erin McCarty for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on September 15 at the CenturyLink Center.

Robert J. Wright and Erin McCarty are participating in the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure on Saturday at the CenturyLink Center in Bossier. Though it's for a good cause, they're still being very competitive. As negotiated on the air last week, Erin gets an 11-and-a-half minute head start, but after weekend reflection she decided this wasn't enough and demanded more!

More than 8 thousand of people showed up for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City.  That's a record breaker for our area.
