Hostess Brands was given approval today by the bankruptcy court to shut the business down and sell its assets.

Yes, this looks like the end of the Twinkie and Ding Dong. Let's have a moment of silence here at Thanksgiving, and give thanks for all the years we were blessed with these delicious and tasty treats, we will miss them.

Twinkies maker Hostess Brands Inc. has shut down production. A hearing to consider Hostess Brands’ motion to shut down completely is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m., CST.

It is a sad time for America as we mourn the death of the Twinkie. Shreveport-Bossier residents are also in pain. We tried to imagine what a Twinkie funeral would be like. You might be surprised by some of the people who would probably show up.
