Tax Holiday? No Holiday, No More

Remember when our elected officials were public figures we all knew and recognized? We knew their names and faces,at least, unlike now. NOW, they remain anonymous because when people ask them what they do they say things like "...doorman at a strip club...'', or ''...accident attorney....''. And why do they deny being our representatives in Baton Rouge.? Because everyone know they are the ones who absolutely screwed up the budget so badly when we DID have money coming in, now, the only way they can fix it, (and remember, these are mostly Republicans, folks) is to TAX ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING AND THEN TAX IT AGAIN! Non profits? TAX 'EM! Sales tax? RAISE IT! Movie industry? RUN IT OUT OF STATE!

And now say so long, sayonara, adios, and adieu to those silly tax holidays we once enjoyed as well. That Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday? GONE WITH THE WIND! Oh, and that Back To School Tax Holiday in August, and the 2nd Amendment Holiday in September? You will now pay 3% tax on those, you lucky devils.

Department of Revenue spokesperson Kizzy Payton says these takeaways are one of the results of the special session that just ended. 'Special Session', indeed............ So the next time a Louisiana Republican begins yelping about a 'those tax and spend' Democrats, just remember that the left wing and the right wing both belong to same sorry bird in Louisiana.
