This year, country music lover who spend New Year's Eve watching the ball drop in Times Square are in for a big treat. Taylor Swift will help her millions of fans greet 2013 with a live performance in New York City shortly before the stroke of midnight.

But it will be an especially emotional year for the Big Apple's standard New Year's Eve bash. After the passing of longtime host and entertainer Dick Clark, the ball drop torch will be handed to 'American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest for the first time.

Fortunately, the 'Idol' host won't have to face the sea of viewers and NYE attendees alone. Swift to the rescue! According to the San Francisco Gate, the 'Red' hitmaker isn't technically confirmed for the gig yet, but Seacrest dropped some serious hints about her Dec. 31 performance when he appeared on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' last week.

"We haven’t announced it yet, but wouldn’t it be great if we could get, there’s a female artist out there that’s setting records in terms of what she’s selling, recently," he hinted. "She loves the color red. And if you’re with her, you may never, ever, ever, be back together with her. And she loves a good break-up anthem."

Hmmm. Who could that be?

Swift will join a number of performers who previously performed on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve Special, including LMFAO, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and more.
