Not only are yard sales a treasure trove of antiques, knick-knacks, and other items priced for any pocketbook, but they are a great way for whoever is holding the yard sale to make a little cash.

The City of Texarkana, TX is going to capitalize on that idea, as they host a community wide yard sale along with an electronics recycling program on Saturday April 30th.

A press release from the city, in conjunction with Texas Parks and Recreation Department and the Community Development Department lets us know the details of the sale.

Both events will be held at Spring Lake Park with the yard sale beginning at 8:00 a.m. The community is invited to shop and stroll around the park while hunting for treasures and bargains. The event is always a popular one for residents and visitors alike. For more information please contact the Southwest Center at (903) 798-3978.

The recycling event will be held from 10am to 2pm across from the Rotary Splash Pad. Computers, TVs, Stereos, and other small appliances will be accepted. Representatives from UNICOR, Waste Management and the Texarkana College STEM Club will be on hand to assist residents with unloading their recyclable electronics. For more information, please contact City Hall at (903) 798-3900.
