A woman in northeast Dallas, TX admits that she shot and killed her husband during an argument about beating the family's pet cat.

The shooting took place just before 7am Saturday morning at the couple's home. When police arrived, Mary Harrison admitted to the crime, waiving her rights and voluntarily speaking to detectives. According to neighbors, the Harrison's had recently moved to the area with their two teenage sons. After moving to the area, their cat went missing for a brief time but was found. The argument that precipitated the shooting was allegedly over Dexter, the shooting victim, beating the family's pet cat.
