The good news keeps rolling out at Showtime after Twin Peaks finally got its 2017 premiere date. Not only is The Affair renewed for Season 4 weeks ahead of its finale, but so too has Jamie Foxx and SNL alum Jay Pharoah’s White Famous comedy been picked up to series.

As announced during the Showtime TCA press tour panel, The Affair will return for a fourth season (likely in late 2017), following the conclusion of its third year on January 29. Meanwhile, as executive produced by Jamie Foxx, Tom Kapinos, Tim Story and Jamie King, White Famous describes itself thusly:

Tim Story, the prolific director who helmed the movie franchises Barbershop, Fantastic Four, Ride Along and Think Like A Man, has joined the project as an executive producer and showrunner and will direct the pilot. WHITE FAMOUS will be written by Kapinos, based on an idea by Jamie Foxx, who will guest star in a recurring role. A co-production between Lionsgate Television and SHOWTIME, the project will focus on a talented, young African-American comedian, Floyd Mooney (Pharoah), whose star is rising, forcing him to navigate the treacherous waters of maintaining his credibility as he begins to cross-over towards becoming “white famous.”

Pharoah was originally thought to split work on the series with SNL, before the series let he and Taran Killam go before Season 42. Killam has his own Showtime series in the works, Mating, though no order has been given yet.
