Everyone likes to catch beads during Mardi Gras parades, but where did carnivale come from? The festival began in 1837 in Louisiana and it's roots come from the Catholic faith and is a time feasting before Lent, the time of atonement before Easter. Fat Tuesday, the last day of the 'Mardi Gras' season falls on Tuesday, February 9th this year, which means we have an extremely short season this year.
