When Avengers: Age of Ultron opened in theaters, audiences were mixed but they were largely in agreement on one key scene: The one where Thor gets into a mystical hot tub and has a vision of the future. In the film, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) literally exits the plot Poochie-style (“I have to go now, Asgard needs me”) strips to the waist, and jumps in a hot spring, where he receives a prophecy of doom to come.

It’s a pretty silly moment, and the prophecy didn’t seem to line up all that well with the events depicted in Thor: Ragnarok. As it turns out though, Thor’s vision was not a warning about the impending events of Ragnarok, but of the arrival of Thanos, and in this new video essay ScreenCrush’s Ryan Arey reveals how this prophecy lines up with the events of Avengers: Infinity War(That also means there are some SPOILERS in it, so make sure you’ve seen both films before you watch it.)
