Matthew Wallace and friends Peydan Brown and Javaris Marshall are three local disabled athletes that have excelled in track and field events.  And they now hope to take this competition to the next level, but they'll need your help.

All three of these young men suffer from Spina Bifida and are paraplegics. Never being ones to allow their disabilities to become more than a slight inconvenience, they are active in GUMBO, Games Uniting Mind and Body, of Lousiana and compete in meets throughout the state.

Matthew just recently competed in San Antonio and at the Endeavor Games in Edmond, Ok where he won 4 gold medals for his races.

These atheletes are currently raising the funds to compete at NJDC, the National Junior Disabilities Championships in Ames, IA.

Matthew and Peydan are using racing chairs on loan from the state, so they are currently raising funds to purchase their own chairs at around $4000 per chair.

To help them raise funds, supporters have organized a Fish Fry tomorrow, Friday, June 20 at the Airline High School parking lot from 4-6 PM.
