Louisiana Treasurer John Kennedy leads the field in the latest US Senate race candidate poll. Republican Kennedy tops the group of ten candidates, including five from the GOP, four Democrats and one independent.

The poll, conducted by Survey USA,  showed Kennedy at 21%, Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell in second with 12%, and Congressman Charles Boustany and New Orleans businesswoman Caroline Fayard tied at third with 10%.

Here was the question:

"If the election for United States Senator were held today, and these were the candidates on the ballot, for whom would you vote?"

John Kennedy (R) 21%

Foster Campbell (D) 12%

Charles Boustany (R) 10%

Caroline Fayard (D) 10%

John Fleming (R) 7%

Rob Maness (R) 6%

Derrick Edwards (D) 5%

Troy Hebert (I) 5%

Joseph Cao (R) 4%

Josh Pellerin (D) 3%

15% of those surveyed said they were undecided.
