Tron Sequel Targets Bossier City’s Jared Leto For Lead Role

The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that the executives at Disney are casting their gaze at Bossier City's Jared Leto in their search for the lead in the latest installment of the TRON franchise.

The new movie won't be a direct sequel to TRON 2.0, but rather a story in the same universe where Leto would play a character named Ares, who has not appeared onscreen before.  There is no word yet on if any characters from the other films will be making an appearance.

Leto's star has been on the rise lately.  His blockbuster performance as the Joker in Suicide Squad, this nod for a Leto-themed Tron, and his upcoming foray with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2049 are just the latest installments in his skyrocketing career.

He definitely has the chops and the looks. I've been a fan since 1999's Fight Club, but it's cool to see him strike out on his own.
