The Shreveport Dog Park is still closed, but it's beginning to look like it could be back open to the pups in the next few weeks.

Flooding in March left the park and the boat launch at Stoner completely submerged and it's taken this long to clean the silt and mud from the park. There are a few final touches to take care of to get the park back open to the public.

The Shreveport Dog Park Alliance is holding a work day on June 9th to get everything done. Volunteers will work alongside city crews to get the grass mowed, the rest of the debris moved and get the park clear for the K-9 crowd.

It's taken this long for the dirt to dry enough so mowing can be done and they can also use the power washers on the sidewalks.

Once the park cleanup and mowing is done, it will be reopened to the public. No date has been given yet.,
