Laziness is an art form.  Just like all art, technology has had a profound effect on taking pride in doing as little as possible.  That's how I found myself enslaved to Walmart's online grocery and pickup system.  As I've said before, this is the wave of the future.  No more wandering around inside the store for days on end like Moses looking for the promised land?  No more going in for eggs and coming out with $365 in stuff I didn't need but no eggs?  Sign me up!  To be fair though, you could always shop in your pajamas.

I can foresee stores like Walmart transforming into warehouses that package your purchase as a list for your pickup or delivery.  Weather or not this will be done by laser wielding robots with a thirst for human blood is still up for debate.

So, It's time to order some groceries, toilet paper and the like.  I log on to Walmart's website and what do I see?

That's right, free 2-day shipping!  The only reason I bring that up is that this is a direct blow to online shopping giants like Amazon.  I feel like a huge shift in the way retail shopping is done on the horizon, because Walmart is not the only brick-and-mortar retail behemoth that is all up in the online biz.

Target has been extremely tech-friendly, and won't let the free shipping game go unchecked.  They offer free 3-5 day shopping for online purchases $25 and up.

Can Amazon match Walmart's low prices?  Will Target be the choice for the "hip" online shopper?  Will Amazon start delivering your groceries via drone and start cooking your meals for you to stay competitive?  Lazy consumers want to know (after our naps)!
