A recent state by state survey by housebeautiful.com determined the 50 most houses in America. And here in Louisiana we have a number to choose from. From an expansive list of famous residences in New Orleans to a lengthy list of historic plantations spanning the state, in the end, there was on that stood above the rest: Oak Alley Plantation.

According to housebeautiful.com:

"Vacherie's Oak Alley plantation is perhaps best known for the quarter mile alley of 300-year-old oak trees that beckon guests to this "Grand Dame of Rover Road".If this Greek Revival plantation house looks familiar, you might remember it as one of the settings in "Interview With the Vampire", among a handful of other Hollywood films."
