If you've ever adopted or rescued a dog like me, you've probably wondered, what the heck is it?

Personally, I have five dogs in my house, which may seem excessive to some. While I think I have a pretty good idea what breed most of them are, there aren't any guarantees without DNA testing. That's where good old modern technology comes in!

There's a new app called Fetch! that's available for free through the App Store and What-Dog.net that can help to identify what breed your dog is. I tried it out on a few of mine with mixed results.

However, when I uploaded this picture of Cyrus, who I rescued from Pet Savers in 2016, the app came back with 'Mastiff.' After speaking with several of my veterinarian friends, we've pretty much come to the conclusion that he's some type of Mastiff/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.

Cam, who I always thought was some type of Spaniel mix came back as a Golden Retriever...

So, they clearly have some bugs to work out, but I have to admit, I had a lot of fun playing with the app! FYI, you can also upload a picture of yourself and find out what kind of dog you would be... It said I was a Dachshund, described as 'playful, willful and with an excellent sense of smell.' Hmmm...
