Will Ferrell 'Ferrell Takes the Field': Comedy Or Baseball Sacrilege?

Comedian Will Ferrell was the special guest of ten Major League teams during this year's spring training. Ferrell actually took the field in five Cactus League games, playing all ten positions, as part of an upcoming HBO special.

But many baseball purist are criticizing Farrell and the teams involved, saying that the former SNL star is demeaning and belittling the game. Ferrell, whose own baseball experience ended with Little League, says his day on the diamond was a tribute of love, albeit a lighthearted one.
