Fire started in the utility room of a home in the 2700 block of Marquette early Monday morning. Firefighters arrived just after 1 A.M. and found the home with heavy fire and smoke coming from the back.

The fire was contained to a utility room and game room. Firefighters found a woman female on the floor in a back bedroom. She was transported to a local  hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. The home received heavy smoke and heat damage throughout.
