Woman to Make 300 Sandwiches in Exchange for Engagement Ring from Boyfriend

You've heard the old saying "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach." In the case of Stephanie Smith, that phrase is true.

Smith and her boyfriend Eric, who himself is a gourmet cook, made a deal: If she makes him 300 sandwiches in a year, he would buy her an engagement ring.

"Eric always want me to make him a sandwich. He says sandwiches are love," Stephanie told The Today Show.

Stephanie explained that he loved the first sandwich she made for him so much that he declared, "Honey, you’re 300 sandwiches away from an engagement ring!”

That declaration started a little blogcalled 300 Sandwiches, where she keeps track of the sandwiches. So far, Smith has made 174 and said she plans to hit the mark in time to get the ring.

Smith is a reporter for New York Post gossip site Page Six and now says she is "124 Sandwiches Away From An Engagement Ring."
