The Oxford American Dictionaries announced it's "Word of the Year" yesterday, and it's about as dumb as you'd imagine.

"GIF" beat out "YOLO" for word of the year in a battle of two acronyms that aren't actually words but, who are we to argue semantics?!?

These made up words makes a man long for the days of the past, when our grandpappies used hilarious slang. We miss terms like gams, flapper, and giggle water. No idea what we're talking about? Well grab some wood and focus your peepers on these slang terms from the 1920s that we should start using again.
