It was a sad day for baseball fans yesterday as Yogi Berra passed at the age of 90. He’s a Hall of Famer and was a catcher for the Yankees who won ten championships while he played with the team. Yogi is known for his famous sayings like, "It ain't over 'til it's over."  And, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Horrible news for Louisiana’s own Ali Landry who hails from Breaux Bridge. Her husband, Alejandro Monteverde’s brother and father were kidnapped from their home in early September. A ransom was paid, but the two were found dead inVeracruz. Our hearts and prayers go out to Ali and her husband’s family during this tragic time.

Brian Williams was back on the tube yesterday covering the Pope’s visit to the U.S. for MSNBC. Williams six month suspension followed his admission regarding exaggerating his role in a helicopter episode in Iraq.

It turns out that the people who claim they own the Happy Birthday song can’t prove they have the rights to the lyrics according to a judge which means if his judgment holds up, movies and TV shows will be able to use the song without paying royalties and restaurants can sing you the original on your special day instead of their own versions.

I had a sneaking suspicion that final show over in Dallaswasn’t it for George and I was right! In a big announcement yesterday, George Strait said he’s releasing a new album this Friday and a new single today, both of which are titled Cold Beer Conversation. He’ll also be doing four shows in Vegas with Kacey Musgraves opening at the new Las Vegas Arena.

New on TV tonight, the 2nd season premiere of Empire on Fox, the 4th season premiere of Nashville on ABC and the 31st season premiere of Survivor, Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance on CBS featuring local favorite Keith Nale.

Other premieres tonight include The Middle, Law & Order: SVU and Modern Family and tonight is also the finale of Big Brother.
