Before she was a Marvel superhero ('Guardians of the Galaxy') and before she was an alien on the planet Pandora ('Avatar'), Zoe Saldana co-starred in the 2002 critically-panned film, 'Crossroads,' which starred Britney Spears at the height of her music career.

Despite the critical backlash from the movie, however, Saldana has nothing but good things to say about Spears, and even defended the pop star after a raw version of 'Alien' without auto-tune was leaked on the Internet last month.

On Thursday night during Bravo TV's online after show for 'What What Happens Live,' the actress defended Spears when a caller asked about her thoughts on the raw vocal leak.

"I'm pretty sure that 80 percent of our musical artists would be mortified if... they were caught singing without auto-tune," she said.

"I have a huge amount of respect for Britney Spears," she added, saying, "I've always said this, and I will alway continue to say it: She was the one big, big celebrity that I met, when I started to work in Hollywood, who really was humble. Whatever was going on in her mind or in her world, it was never about hating her neighbor."

"I can name a lot of prominent figures right now that today are more famous than Britney, that literally got to where they were at by hating on Britney a lot. It was cool at one time to really diss her, and Britney never did that."

Saldana concludes, "She has the biggest fan base. I do believe that people and children gravitate towards good energy and she's definitely an abundance of that."

We're sure Britney loves to hear that, Zoe!
