WHYYYYY did he have so many teeth?

A 7-year-old boy in India was complaining of jaw pain. The cause of that pain...a whole lot of teeth!

The boy was admitted last month to hospital due to pain and swelling near his lower right molars. The doctors took X-rays and a CT scan, and that's when they found the cause of the problem.

526 teeth were removed from this poor boy's mouth. The teeth were located in a bag-like tissue that took doctors nearly two hours to take out. Then it took another five hours to take all 526 teeth out.

The teeth ranged in size from 0.1 millimeters (.004 inches) to 15 millimeters (0.6 inches), but even the smallest piece had a crown, root and enamel.

The boy was released after three days and is expected to make a full recovery.

Doctors are stumped on how something like this could happen, acknowledging that it is most likely either genetic, or environmental.
