I am a restaurant kid, my earliest memories consist of running up and down my parents restaurant, playing outside in the front patio of the restaurant, and sneaking soda from the soda machine. Half of my siblings are in the restaurant business. My brother, Carlos, who owns restaurants in Tyler, TX has been coming into the SBC lately to check out my new digs and enjoy some local food. We had Frank's Pizza, and Ki Mexico which he enjoyed but he had heard several rumblings about a Chinese restaurant that was tucked away with one of the biggest wine selections in the area. My friend Hillary is all about keeping me in the know, she kept telling me about Lucky Palace and it clicked, this is that Chinese restaurant attached to a motel off the interstate.

When you drive up to the restaurant you are convinced you got the wrong place. Is there really a restaurant in here? Yup, it's one of the best gems in Bossier. Who would think that Chinese food and wine pair perfectly together? They do. We had a lot of different items, however here are some of my favorites!

The Sancerre Les Baronnes Sauvignon Blanc by Henri Bourgeois was one of a kind amazing! My other half who isn't crazy about wine loved this Sav Blanc. The best part, the price. I am all about not breaking the bank for a bottle of wine. It paired amazingly with the exquisite duck appetizer seen below.

The Duck on Scallion Pancake was by far the best duck dish I have ever had. According to my nephew that apple is a stress ball (NOT TRUE, bite in and find out what it really is.)

Of course the rest of the meal was amazing, from the Empire Ginger Chicken to the wonderful powdered donuts and I can't remember the name of these delicious sesame balls with pecans but you have to order them next time you're in. The wine menu is so vast, you'll need a lot of time to look over the wine menu, so plan for that. Have you ever "discovered" a gem in the SBC? Tell us where in the comments below!
