We hardly bat an eye anymore at Ryan Murphy’s eclectic talent assembly, least of all for American Horror Story. It’d certainly seem plausible of Bates Motel star Vera Farmiga to join her younger sister Taissa as well, but apparently this is one rumor quickly snuffed out.

Like Lady Gaga before her, Farmiga was recently rumored to take part in the as-yet-untitled seventh season with an unknown role. A Reddit thread was even created in support/corroboration of the idea, but as Entertainment Weekly now affirms, the Up in the Air star will not be taking part in the election-themed season.

For what it’s worth, Taissa Farmiga has not been said to appear either, despite leading roles in the first season’s Murder House and Season 3’s Coven, and a fairly gruesome appearance in this past year’s Roanoke.

Elsewhere of Season 7, Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd has also joined in a mysterious role, along with Allison Pill, Colton Haynes, comedian Billy Eichner and Popular alum Leslie Grossman. In addition to returning stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Cheyenne Jackson and Adina Porter, Season 7 might feature the return of several characters from American Horror Story: Freak Show, while a separate upcoming season was said to bring together Murder House and Coven characters.

Season 7 will likely offer more concrete announcements soon, so stay tuned for the latest on American Horror Story.
