‘American Idol’ Auditions Coming to Shreveport

American Idol is making it's return in 2018 to ABC and you'll be able to audition for the show this fall in Shreveport, LA.

Keep in mind, the show doesn't have all of it's judges lined out for the reboot, but according to the American Idol website, auditions will be held right here in Shreveport Monday, September 4, 2017 and again in Louisiana in New Orleans September 14, 2017. The website is careful to note that audition locations and dates are subject to change.

Other than knowing they plan to come to northwest Louisiana in September, we don't have times or a specific location. If I were a betting girl, I'd lay odds on the auditions being held at either the Shreveport Convention Center or the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City. A quick online check of the calendars for both venues shows that both of them are available.

I'm just wondering why it took so long for one of these talent shows to come to our area. After all, we've had a lot of homegrown folks do us proud on American Idol and shows like The X Factor and The Voice. Dez Duron, Willie Jones, Cole Vosbury, Natalie Hanson, Cara Watson, Christina Langston and I'm sure more that have fallen out of my head over the years.
