Could Louisiana make it two seasons in a row of getting an American Idol winner?

Last year, Laine Hardy got his start in Baton Rouge. And this Sunday, the Capital City will once again hold auditions for the hit TV singing show.

American Idol producers will hold preliminary open auditions at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center located at 201 Lafayette St.

If you'd like to try out, here is all you need to know:

  • You must be 15 to 28 years old as of June 1, 2019, in order to try out this season.
  • You must be a legal U.S. resident and be authorized to participate in the entire competition portion of the show and throughout the term of any post-show agreements, such as but not limited to, a recording agreement.
  • You are ineligible to participate this season if you competed in any previous season of "American Idol" and advanced to the Top 10 stage of the competition.
  • To accept an invitation to compete, you must be able to demonstrate that you do not have any contractual arrangement that would prohibit you from fully participating in the show and/or entering into any contracts required.
  • You must not currently be a candidate for public office and must agree not to become a candidate for public office until one year after the initial exhibition of the final episode of the show in which you appear.
  • You may register in advance online at AmericanIdol.com or on the day of auditions. If you're registering on Sunday, you should arrive as early as possible. If you wait until late in the day, there may not be space or time to accommodate you.
  • No children under 5 will be allowed at the audition venue.

Here's what you need to bring:

  • A photograph of yourself and a valid form of ID that show proof of your age (a driver's license, state ID card, or a school ID card).
  • One person to accompany you, if you like.
  • Signed personal release form (available on the website). Minors' parent or legal guardian must sign the personal release form as well and must accompany minor at all times.

Here's what not to wear:

  • No clothing with visible designer names, corporate or sports team names or logos, copyrighted images, celebrity names or images (living or dead), cartoon character images or inappropriate messages or words (for example, profanity). If you wear such clothing, you may be required to remove it, turn it inside out or put on additional clothing to cover it.
  • If you have any tattoos containing any of the above, cover the tattoo for the audition.

What to sing:

  • A song of your choice either a cappella (without music) or with your own instrumental accompaniment (e.g., a guitar). Be prepared to sing at least two or possibly three songs. If you are called back to audition further, you may be asked again to sing two songs a cappella, one of which may or may not be from a list that will be provided to you.
  • You may use a musical instrument during the Baton Rouge auditions.
