Traveling I-20 through Shreveport and Bossier City is already somewhat "problematic" to say the least, but beginning later this morning, it could get downright brutal.

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that beginning this morning, January 31, and continuing through this Friday, February 4, the inside lane of I-20 Westbound from LA 3105 (Airline Drive) all the way to the Red River Bridge in Bossier Parish, will be closed from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm daily.

Additionally, according to LaDOTD, the inside westbound lane from LA 3105 (Airline Drive) to LA 72 (Old Minden Road) will be closed and they will be closing the Airline Drive westbound on ramp and the Old Minden Road westbound on ramp.

With the closure of the Airline Drive and Old Minden Road entrance ramps to I-20 Westbound, expect traffic congestion on both of those roads as drivers look for alternate ways to go west.

DOTD says these closures are necessary to allow crews to remove litter and debris along the interstate.

Of course, the work will be performed, weather permitting, so bad weather could mean possible rescheduling.
