Appearing on the auction block soon, one of the most prestigious estates in all of East Texas that was home to famous chicken man Bo Pilgrim, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

I've driven by this sprawling property many times, driving into Pittsburg on Hwy. 271 from the south, you see it on the right hand side of the road, the French inspired look of 'Cluckingham Palace'. Nestled on the south side of Pittsburg, the 43 acre estate that was created by the late chicken tycoon Bo Pilgrim (Lonnie Pilgrim) will soon belong to a new family. The 18,000 square foot mansion goes on the auction block in mid-October. The property boasts six bedrooms and ten and a half baths, features an intricately designed swimming pool and spa, a glass elevator, European made fire places, red oak wood floors and many other amenities. The home is surrounded by azalea gardens, three greenhouses and three ponds, one featuring featuring sculptures of swans.

Bo Pilgrim's grandson, Clayton Pilgrim, tells KLTV 7's Jamey Boyum that the Pilgrim family has 'had every Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Father's Day, Mother's Day' at the house since it was built back in 1992.

The property is being auctioned off by Concierge Auctions. Bidding will begin at 5 p.m. Eastern on October 15th and requires a $100,000 bidder deposit.
