One of our favorite things about this time of year is set to open Saturday.

I don't know about you, but I love getting up early on a Saturday, grabbing a cub of coffee, and perusing the Bossier City Farmer's Market. If you're anything like me, you'll be excited to know that the Bossier City Farmer's Market is opening its 2016 season on Saturday, April 2. Gates will open at 9 a.m. in the south parking lot of Pierre Bossier Mall, over by Sears.

The Bossier City Farmer's Market prides itself in being open year round. According to owner Chris Graham, there is something to sell during every season.

“We have farmers with goods they want to sell year round. The Bossier City Farmers Market is perfect for that. We are creating an established location with established farmers and vendors for a year-round venue.”

The Market will be open every Saturday through December 17, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Pierre Bossier Mall location can hold up to 200 vendors. You'll be able to get fruit and vegetables and baked goods. Local restaurants will be onsite, as well as food trucks with Louisiana cooking. You'll see items from local crafters, makers, artists, entrepreneurs, and hobbyists to name a few. Many bring one-of-a-kind paintings, jewelry, multimedia creations and more.

It's also an event for the entire family each Saturday with live music, children's activities, face-painting, balloons, games, and a rock climbing wall, which is new this year. The Bossier City Farmer's Market is always free and open to the public. There is plenty of parking at Pierre Bossier Mall.
