It's never a good idea to drink and drive. We have so many options available to us these days to prevent us from driving under the influence.

We Have Too Many Options Available

There's the age old designated driver, there are taxis, Uber and Lyft.  For that matter, there's always the option of just walking home.

Just don't do it. Don't put yourself in the position of driving when impaired by the effects of drugs or alcohol.  And you certainly don't want to do it this weekend in Bossier Parish.

The Bossier Sheriff's Department Will Be Looked For Impaired Drivers

The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department has issued a warning to motorists that they'll conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint this Saturday evening, March 19, beginning at 8:00 pm, and will run through early Sunday morning, March 20, at an undisclosed location in Bossier Parish.

According to the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department,

The goal of the checkpoint is to identify and remove impaired drivers from the road before they cause serious injury or death to themselves or others, and to increase public awareness of the seriousness of driving while impaired. The Louisiana State Police will assist.

The Bossier Sheriff's Department added that the sobriety checkpoint is being conducted as part of a $14,040 grant awarded to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission for DWI Enforcement.

Motorists are encouraged to report impaired drivers to law enforcement at any time in support of “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.” The Bossier Sheriff's Office can be reached 24 hours a day at 318-965-2203.
