Witnesses in Baton Rouge couldn't believe what they were seeing with their eyes.

According to WBRZ, an 11-year-old was safely taken into custody after he allegedly stole a school bus and led police on a wild chase through Baton Rouge just before 11 a.m. Sunday morning.

A juvenile was taken into custody Sunday after police said the kid stole a school bus and took officers on a pursuit through parts of East Baton Rouge. By 11:30, the bus had crashed and officers had surrounded the bus and taken the juvenile driver into custody. The bus stopped on Greenwell Springs Road in Central where it hit a gas line.

After seeing multiple eyewitness photos and videos appear on social media it's a miracle that his dangerous joyride didn't result in any major damage.

There were no injuries reported and police have not named the juvenile.

We will update this story when more information becomes available, but in the meantime, you can follow it here at WBRZ.
