Brett Eldredge's song "The Long Way" is not only generating buzz for its sweet sentiment, but also for the leading lady in the music video, Sadie Robertson. Though rumors have been swirling that Eldredge and the Duck Dynasty star are dating, he insists that's not true.

"No, we're not dating, she's just a good friend," he tells Taste of Country.

Eldredge cast the reality TV star after following her on social media and feeling drawn to her personality. The two had never met until the first day of the video shoot, and they became instant friends.

"I saw her on Instagram and I saw all of her stories and just her energy, she's just a great person," Eldredge says. "I just loved who she is, what she stands for, her whole story, her personality."

"Literally, I just love everything she stands for, and I thought she would be amazing for this video if somehow we could get her to do this and she was like all about it," the "Somethin' I'm Good At" singer continues. "I just thought she's the kind of person that you're looking for in this kind of song, just a good heart, a great person, beautiful soul."

Though the two share an undeniable chemistry in the romantic video, Eldredge assures fans that the two are nothing more than good pals. "She did an amazing job and somehow people thought we were dating for a while. It's like, 'No, we're just good, new friends,'" he says. "We just met that day and we hit it off as friends."

"The Long Way" is the second single off Eldredge's new self-titled album, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and No. 2 on the multi-genre Billboard 200.
