With school out for the summer, we know it's high time for family vacations and moving! I've always sworn I'd never move again... all that packing is for the birds! But with the kiddos singing the No More Teachers, No More Books song, it's time to make those moves. With that being said, when new comers relocate to our area, sometimes they feel a bit like a stranger in a strange land.

We can be a little cliquish, it's true, but this is my third time living in Louisiana and I've always loved it and called it home. McCarty has been here her entire life and is originally from South Louisiana... She's so Southern we've heard she even has webbed toes! That's why we feel uniquely qualified to not only welcome you to Shreveport/Bossier but to also offer you some advice on fitting in.

First, you should always remember 'Geaux' is applicable where ever anything is good. Ie: Way to Geaux! Two, there's nothing bigger, better, more incredible than LSU sports... even if it's curling. Lastly, we displace fleur-de-lis everywhere and any mention that we shouldn't will be promptly rebuked. Finally, we wear purple, green and gold year round, not just during Mardi Gras season.

But just because things are different here, it doesn't mean we're bad. Eccentric is probably more appropriate, but I digress, here's episode one of your Shreveport/Bossier Primer on Proper Southern Integration... from the folks from so far down South, we still consider sushi bait.
